Project Description
Evolution & Whyte & Mackay: A Shared Success Story
Through Partnership, Precision & Trust
When one of the leading producers of scotch whisky, Whyte & Mackay, set out to create a dedicated prestige bottling line for its luxury whisky portfolio, the company needed more than just equipment.
The project required a trusted partner capable of delivering a complex, multi-site transformation while maintaining the quality, precision, and craftsmanship synonymous with brands such as The Dalmore and Fettercairn.
Having worked together for more than 20 years, Whyte & Mackay turned to Evolution to lead the project. Now proudly part of the ProMach Group, Evolution is a leading supplier of high-quality, innovative processing and packaging machinery.
Built on trust, technical expertise and a proven track record of delivering successful bottling line solutions, the partnership provided the confidence needed to manage both new technology and existing assets across multiple sites.
“Evolution are one of our main partners. I knew that their experience would allow us to find the correct solution. One of the things that stands out is the quality of the equipment in comparison to the cost.” Alan Donaldson, Project Manager, Whyte & Mackay.
A Fully Integrated Solution
The objective was twofold: to establish a prestige bottling line for high-value products at Grangemouth and create capacity for a new high-speed malts line.
Working in close partnership with Whyte & Mackay, Evolution designed and delivered a fully integrated packaging solution that combined industry-leading technology with the effective reuse of existing equipment.
Key Equipment Included
- MBF rinser, filler and corker monoblock, relocated from the main site and seamlessly integrated into the new line.
- Robino & Galandrino capsular, providing reliable secondary closure application.
- Logics & Controls inspection systems, delivering world-class quality assurance and ensuring the highest levels of product integrity.
- TMG end-of-line equipment, offering dependable case handling, palletising and packaging performance.
- For the high-speed line, Whyte & Mackay selected an MBF Superbloc® with an integrated Robino & Galandrino.
A significant milestone within the project was the successful relocation of an MBF filling machine between sites. Evolution managed every aspect of the move, from transportation and installation through to recommissioning, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption.
By blending cutting-edge technology with proven legacy machinery, Evolution helped maximise investment while delivering a production environment capable of supporting both current and future operational demands.
The Result
Through close collaboration, meticulous project management and a shared commitment to excellence, Whyte & Mackay and Evolution successfully delivered a future-ready production solution.
